Trail of devastation left by more than a dozen Eastern European rough sleepers

shanty town under London church

A scene of destruction was left by a group of Eastern European migrants after they were ordered to leave a shanty town they had created beneath Holy Trinity Church in Hounslow (centre). The group of around 15 migrants were sleeping rough beneath the church and were ordered to leave following a High Court ruling. Police said the process had taken such a long time because the land is privately owned. Four vans were needed to remove the rubbish and discarded furniture from the site.
